This program is directed towards individuals who intend to establish or acquire a business in Quebec and manage it actively. The processing time is about one year and a half but this varies with the applicant's country of residence.
To be admissible to this program, the applicant must have net assets of CAD $300,000, a minimum of 2 years of experience in managing a business and the ability to carry through a business project in Quebec. The applicant must also have control of at least 25% of the equity, which should be valued at CAD $100,000.
In addition, the applicant must pass the Quebec selection criteria test, which assesses his or her age, work experience, language skills in French and English, and knowledge of Quebec.
The applicant must submit the required forms and documents, pay the required fees, attend an interview with a Quebec officer and undergo a medical exam. The spouse or common-law partner can be included in this application.
