Overview

Premium Residency Program

Saudi Arabia is offering the Premium Residency program, which provides a unique opportunity for high-net-worth individuals, talented people, and entrepreneurs to live, work, and invest in the Kingdom without the need for a sponsor. Eligible foreign nationals can choose from the following options:

  1. Obtain a min. of SAR 400,000 (±USD 106,700) round/s as an investment; no less than 20% share in the company.  
  2. Obtain a min. of SAR 15 million (±USD 4 m.) round/s as an investment; no less than 10% share in the company; 10 jobs in the first year, and at least another 10 jobs during the second year. 

An entity must have accreditations and licenses from the Ministry of Investment  

Real Estate Owner  Tied to real estate ownership or usufruct 

Own or Usufruct real estate assets valued at least SAR 4 million (±USD 1,07 million) within Saudi 

Free from mortgages. 

Limited Duration Premium Residency 1 year, Renewable SR 100,000 (±USD 26,700) for each year, with a reduction of 2% per annum and on an accumulative basis, if applying for more than a year. 
Unlimited Duration Premium Residency Permanent residency SR 800,000 (±USD 213,400) – one-time fee 
Special Talent 5-year, renewable
 

Minimum Monthly Salary:
SR 14,000 – Researchers;
SR 35,000 – Healthcare & Scientific Professionals;  

SR 80,000 – Executives. 

Gifted (sports, cultural, and artistic talents) 5-year, renewable
 
Exceptional awards; Recommendation from Saudi authorities (Ministry of Sports, Ministry of Culture); 

Holders of the 5-year residence permits can apply for permanent residency after continuing compliance with eligibility criteria and residing in Saudi Arabia for at least 30 months within 5 years.  

Holders of the Saudi Premium Residence are exempt from the “Nitaqat” system, which is a Saudization program aiming to increase the employment of Saudi nationals in the private sector. 

Eligibility

In addition to complying with conditions and covering the fee, applicants for the Saudi Arabia Premium Residency program must meet the following criteria: 

  • Be at least 21 years of age 
  • Hold a valid passport 
  • Be in good health 
  • Have a clean criminal record 
  • Provide proof of financial solvency 
  • Pass Due Diligence procedures. 

Applicants are required to provide supporting documentation to verify their eligibility. Entrepreneurs must present a business plan. Some applicants may be asked to obtain approvals from relevant authorities, such as the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

Family Inclusion

The Saudi Arabia Premium Residency Program allows eligible individuals to sponsor their immediate family members to reside in Saudi Arabia. This includes the following: 

  • Spouses 
  • Children under the age of 25 
  • Parents 

Benefits

Freedom of Residence and Movement

Premium Residency visa holders do not require a Saudi sponsor to live and work in the country. They can cross the Saudi border unlimited times during the validity of their residency permit.

Investment & Ownership Opportunities

Premium Residency visa holders are granted the right to own residential, commercial, and industrial real estate in Saudi Arabia.

Business Opportunities

A premium Residency visa allows one to establish a business(es) in Saudi Arabia without the need for a local partner.

Family Sponsorship

Premium Residency visa holders can sponsor their immediate family members, including spouses, dependent children, and parents, to reside in Saudi Arabia

Access to Healthcare & Education

A residence permit in Saudi Arabia allows the holder access to quality healthcare services and education institutions, ensuring a high standard of living.

Visa-free Access to GCC Countries

Saudi Premium Residency visa holders can travel without a visa to the member-countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC)

All categories, including the Special Talent and Gifted Residencies, except for Limited and Unlimited Duration Premium Residency, imply a one-time fee of SAR 4,000 (±USD1070).  

Applicable Fees

All remaining fees are unchanged. Therefore, the following fees continue to apply under both arms of the Programme:

Application Process

Bayat Legal Services’ compliance team will conduct an internal due diligence check, which entails a background security screening of the applicant, Preparation of KYC (Know Your Client), and a qualification assessment. The confidentiality of the verification process is maintained. Certified Anti-Money Laundering Officers review the applicant’s documents.
Bayat Legal Services will meticulously analyze the client's case. Once this is done, the client will proceed to sign a retainer agreement with the firm. Subsequently, Bayat Group will curate the whole application process.
Applicants need to register and create an account on the Saudi Arabia Premium Residency portal. Registration forms must be filled out completely. Applicants will need to have a valid email address and phone number to verify the registration.
After creating the account, applicants have to click on the “Request Premium Residency” option and follow the instructions. Applicants need to provide various materials, such as personal details, information about family members, education, work experience, finances and savings, and other general data.
Applicants will be required to upload supporting documents, such as scans of passports, IDs, birth certificates, marriage certificates, bank statements, employment contracts, and various other relevant documents. After uploading documents, they need to cover the application processing fee of USD170, which can be paid through the portal online.
Authorities conduct a comprehensive due diligence check, which verifies the legality of invested funds, confirms the absence of criminal records, and ensures compliance with legal regulations. Successful applicants will be granted Saudi residence permits. The application process is very straightforward and can last 4-6 weeks.
