Eligibility
The National Innovation Visa (Global Talent Visa – Subclass 858) is a permanent residency pathway for highly skilled individuals with international recognition in key growth sectors such as technology, health, energy, AgTech, and advanced manufacturing. To be eligible, applicants must demonstrate an exceptional track record of achievement, be nominated by a recognised Australian individual or organisation, and show the ability to attract a high income (or have high future earning potential). There is no age limit, and the visa offers fast-tracked processing for talent that can contribute significantly to Australia’s innovation and economic priorities. Applicants must also meet health, character, and basic English language requirements.Benefits

Direct Permanent Residency

Application Process
Before starting, ensure you:
- Work in a priority sector (e.g., tech, health, energy, AgTech, etc.)
- Have international recognition and an exceptional track record
- Can attract a high salary (currently AUD 167,500 or have strong potential to do so)
- Can obtain a nomination from a recognised Australian individual or organisation in your field
- Your nominator must be:
- An Australian citizen, permanent resident, eligible NZ citizen, or an Australian organisation
- Recognised nationally in your field of expertise
- They must complete a Form 1000 to support your EOI
- Complete the Expression of Interest form.
- Upload documents showing:
- Evidence of achievements (awards, publications, patents, etc.)
- Resume/CV
- Proof of income or future earning potential
- Form 1000 from your nominator
If your EOI is successful, you will receive an invitation to apply for the Subclass 858 visa along with a unique identifier code.

- Police clearance certificates
